There are two adoption methods to choose from:
Direct Entry Method (Quick Adoption)
Perfect to use if you have the ISBN. All on one page, no search option and no merchandise option.
The top half of the screen indicates term, department, course, and instructor information. You can use the drop-down boxes to find your course/s.
The bottom half of the screen is where messages and notifications can be added. Add textbooks by ISBN for one or multiple ISBN’s, select the usage. When entering multiple ISBNs remember to use commas to separate but no spaces. Click Adopt and they are added to the cart. Once all titles are added, click Submit to finalize entry.
Guided Adoption (1-2-3 Step by Step Method)
Step 1: Select the adoption term and department, then Filter by Instructor. You can then choose your course and section. If the course requires no text, click that option on this page. Click Continue.
Step 2: Books previously adopted by you will display as your own ‘book list’. Various search options are available. Book Search allows you to search by ISBN. History allows you to look at adoptions from prior terms. As books are adopted they will display in the adoptions cart on the right. Book search is easiest way to adopt especially when you have the ISBN. If you need to Add a Book, click on that option and enter the information.
Step 3: If merchandise is available to adopt it can be selected here.
Step 4: If assigning Usage (required, recommended, optional etc.) make the choice in the dropdown box:
- CH = Choose One Option (meaning choose either this looseleaf or an ebook etc.)
- EB = Ebook
- OP = Optional (book purchase is NOT required)
- RC = Recommended by professor (book purchase is NOT required but recommended)
- RQ = Required by professor (text MUST be purchased)
- SA = Study Aid (optional items to aid the student but not required to purchase). Bar Chart’s for example.
An email message concerning your adoption can also be added on this page. The email goes directly to the college store.
Step 5: Final review and additional notification emails. Once reviewed click Submit
